Atlantic Bridge Update - Stony Street & Route 132/Legacy Fields
This is a follow up to the 7/19/18 posting/letter regarding the Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC (“Algonquin”) Horizontal Directional Drill (“HDD”) construction activities for the area around Stony Street to Legacy Park. Posted: July 27, 2018
Currently, we are in the process of extracting the pipe out of the drill hole to our work site adjacent to Stony Street. As we mentioned before, the extraction process requires the use
of a pneumatic hammer to keep the pipe string moving. The extraction work will continue over the upcoming weekend days of Saturday, July 28th and Sunday, July 29th. Our work hours over the weekend will be from 8 am until 7 pm. Algonquin will continue to work into next week until the pipe is completely removed from the drill hole. Our weekday hours will be from 7 am until 7 pm.
Algonquin has informed the Town of Yorktown and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission of the extraction work. Our environmental staff will continue to monitor noise levels throughout the process from well-placed receptors.

They anticipate to use the hammer over the next few days which will include this Sunday, July 22nd. This upcoming work will be limited to the daytime hours between 7am - 7pm on weekdays and 8am - 7 pm on the weekend.

Algonquin has determined that a portion of the HDD pipe in the above area needs to be replaced. As a result, their contractor will be extracting the pipe to perform additional work. They have informed the town that the extraction process requires the use of a pneumatic hammer to keep the pipe string moving.
They anticipate to use the hammer over the next few days which will include this Sunday, July 22nd. This upcoming work will be limited to the daytime hours between 7am and 7 pm.

Increased construction activity is expected to begin on Tuesday, June 19th around Algonquin Gas Transmission's worksites adjacent to Stony Street and near Legacy Park. This work is anticipated to take approximately 7 days. Once this work is started it will continue 24 hours per day until completion of this phase of the project.
During this activity there will be no road closures in that area but there will be increased heavy construction traffic which will impact the areas around Stony Street and also at Route 132 from Legacy Fields to Route 6.
Expect the truck traffic to move slowly during this project. Please leave adequate time to reach your destination.
Motorists should anticipate flaggers and police on Stony Street, where Stony Street meets East Main Street and on Route 132.
