Yorktown Library Introduces Passport Service

(October 12, 2022) – The John C. Hart Memorial Library has introduced a U.S. passport service for the public.

“We purposely selected hours that complement what the Shrub Oak Post Office offers,” said library director Yvonne Cech. “We offer afternoon and evening hours, which could be very helpful to folks who work or go to school during the day. We'll also have pop-up Saturday hours occasionally.”

To apply for a U.S. passport, applicants must complete an application and provide proof of U.S. citizenship, proof of identity, and one passport photo that can be taken at the library for $10. Fees for the passports cost $130 for adults and $100 for children, plus additional costs for expedited applications and mail service.

Appointments are required by calling 914-245-5262, x225. Passport appointments are available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Instructions for passport applications are posted on the library’s website.

The library is located at 1130 E. Main St. in Shrub Oak.
