Four Families Win Prizes in Christmas Decoration Contest
Four families won prizes for their holiday decorations in the second annual Yorktown Holiday Light Fest sponsored by the Yorktown Lions and the Town of Yorktown.
The contest received 29 entries submitted through Yorktown’s website; the Yorktown Lions chose the winners.
“It’s a heartwarming experience looking through the photo submissions because the decorated homes are a testament to the homeowners’ love of the holidays,” said Jim Poulin, the Lions’ president.
The winning families are:
- First place: Richard Giannasca, $100 restaurant gift certificate
- Frank Ploger, $50 restaurant gift certificate
- James Gumbs, $25 restaurant gift certificate
- Joseph Freda, $25 restaurant gift certificate
“Holiday decoration is a symbol of hope, and I’m happy to see so much hope in our community despite last year’s challenges,” said Supervisor Matt Slater. “What’s most reassuring about our neighbors’ hope is that it is not limited to the holidays. In fact, I see it on display throughout the year, which is a source of constant inspiration.”
